What is low-level codes resynchronization and why it is important to run it regularly.

Less than one minute read time.

Low-level codes resynchronization function is designed to maintain accuracy of the BOM tree structure. It is found under Common data, BOMs, Low codes. In order to use this function, BOMs must already exist in the system. When creating, modifying, or deleting a BOM, a link updates table ITMBOM which contains the combination of the BOM structure and its components.

Low-level codes resynch identifies changes to the lowest levels of the BOM structure allowing for the most accurate MRP and MPS processing. MRP and MPS need to determine where the lowest levels of the tree are in order to know where to start identifying material requirements. Modifying components on a BOM without running the low level resynch utility might not give an accurate suggestion for the raw materials. This utility “SYNCLLC” can be scheduled in a batch server to run weekly or monthly depends on how often changes are made to components on  BOMs.
