The Quick Checking Badge Check Checker – How to see your badge counts without the GUI

1 minute read time.

Good evening blog readers. Today I have a short blog post but its a good and convenient topic. Did you ever want to know what badges are in use, but too lazy to login and navigate to the badges function and count the badges? Yeah, me too. There is a quick linked URL that you can use that will tell you exactly what badges are being used and how many you have.

This URL uses the usedBadge function via SDATA.

Here is the example format:

http://server:port/sdata/syracuse/collaboration/syracuse/licenses/$service/usedBadges

Just so you know, the server:port part should be the same as what the normal users use to login. It will typically be “the name of the server”:8124. Or if you want, you can look at my screenshots. I used localhost:8124 (because I am directly on the Syracuse server so I can use localhost).

When you load the URL, it will prompt you with a login page like a normal Sage X3 page:

Once you login and accept, the page will load a list of badges and their current count.

It will look just like this.

This is what it looks like with 2 users logged in

If you notice it is only listed badges that have been used. If no badges are being used (which is highly unlikely), you will get a blank page with just badgeCounts {}.

Its pretty simple to use. Plus, you can bookmark it for later use, because it’s a URL link. Well there you go. Now you have an easier way to check badge usage without having to go through the GUI.

I did say it was a short blog and I wasn’t lying this time. I promise the next one will be longer. For sure.
