Is it possible to MASS update existing records for Sales Price Lists?

1 minute read time.

In order to MASS update an existing price list record, we need to define settings and rules to use when updating a price list. There are three types of price list update:

  1. Modification of existing records
  2. Copying of records and then modify them
  3. Currency change

Function GESSNE (Price update definition) can be used to define the type of update to make such as a discount or a percentage.

The price code to change must be selected and a record range can be defined too but only price records associated with price codes are available for selection.

When the Modifiable selection check box is selected, it allows modification of records range and "Valid on" date during the execution process.

In the Processing section, the currency can be modified, copied or changed.

A new validity date can be entered but if no value is entered, the records are maintained with the existing dates.

In the Process variables selection, additional variables can by identified to use as part of the calculation or selection process. These identified variables are user-defined values and it is recommended to use data types that serves as coefficients in calculation expressions such as L or DCB or Alphanumeric ones such as A or ITM.

After finishing with the settings, click the Lines to enter the actual change information. For example, an entry can be made to increase a unit price by 10%

For each code, multiple line definitions can be defined, and they are processed from lowest to highest when the executing the update. Also, an expression can be defined which will serve as the means for pricing record lines affected by the update.

The options available at the Type of modifications field include: Not Modified, Variation in %, Variation in Value, and Assignment.

  1. Variation option will increase or decrease the value based on the amount or percentage
  2. Assignment will set the price or discount to a specific amount or percentage based on the field defined in the price code

To apply the update created in the Price update definition function, click the Run for the selected code within Price update definition

or use function FUNSPCINC (Price update) in Sales, Price lists.
