How to use ADC production reporting?

1 minute read time.

In ADC (Automated Data Collection), Production reporting (VXAPT) function is used to track Finished goods (FG) and materials. This function uses an entry transaction where you can select different parameters based on your requirements.

Additionally, it can be setup to print labels automatically and it can be accessed using a handheld device or virtual terminal (VT).

1. This entry transaction is located under Setup, Manufacturing, Entry transactions, Production Plan.

  • Here you can specify the parameters.
  • Authorize tracking of the associated materials.

  • Under Stock tab, enable automatic label printing.

  • Note; field entry, and display of this function is not controlled by the production plan entry transaction.

2. Following fields are displayed in ADC production reporting, Site, Transaction code, WO number, Product, Quantity, Unit/status, Location, Lot, Sub lot, Serial number, Expiry date, and Close.

  • OK” button is used to go to the next line and additionally, you can see the number of validated lines displayed at the top left corner of the screen. Once a document line is validated it cannot be modified. Pressing “OK” will clear the previous validated line but it will not generate a document.
  • Create” button will generate the tracking document.
  • Cancel” button is used to cancel the entered details.

In this example I am going to track a released product quantity of 4500 units in two lines.

  • Tracking 1: FG Qty = 2000

  • Click OK

Notice, the validated document line fields are cleared, and the tracked line number is set to “1” (highlighted).

  • Tracking 2: FG Qty = 2500 and set the close flag to “Yes”.

  • Click create will display a dialog screen with the log number.
  • If the print destination is setup already, it will be sent to the label printer.

  • You can review the log file under Reports, Log Reading and then check the tracking document.
