SQL18.12 Address Book: Where did they hide 'Search by Trade?

SUGGESTED

This is my #1 search function. Has anybody discovered it's location?  It was prominent in Pervasive, but is hidden or has been removed in sql.  Jumping back to Pervasive is not going to work forever. Thanks.

In estimating on 17.13 There is a filter by trade function on the bid grid. When you right click to list contractors, a window named Address Book - Company list opens. You can filter that list by trade. It also woks by clicking the Sub Name on the spreadsheet.

I don't know if this helps

Bill, this is somewhat helpful, but when one is looking for a supplier, not a subcontractor, this access method does not work. If I am looking for a supplier to request a quote, I need to filter by trade, then have direct access to their contact info. Could access be in some obscure location? Thanks for the reply.

Randy, If you add the vendor name column to the spread sheet it will work the same way. Also, when you pull up your list filter by trade, pick one and in the lower left corner click edit selection and you can view or edit their information. You have editing capabilities from the management console, but it lacks being able to filter by trade as far as I can see.

That works. I never assign vendors on the spreadsheet, so I never activated that column. It is still a round-about way to get to that sort-sequence. That lead me to incorporate a numerical hierarchy for my Trades. This way I have placed the preferred providers at the top of the list for quicker access. In Pervasive we could reorder that list with the Move Up command. SQL is still a work in progress, but it is an improvement over Pervasive.

    Thanks for the help, Bill.
