Does anyone have this set up in their payroll yet? We just had employees off for the afternoon for a Covid test.
HI Sandra, I am reviewing the requirements outlined on this web site https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-worker-income-protection-benefit and will be going over it with a coworker. We may end up writing a new KB article to point you in the appropriate direction. One thing I can say for sure is that you will need to set up a new pay ID to track this type of Sick Pay separately.
It will be very similar to how Covid emergency pays are setup for United States, but not exactly the same.
We have setup a specific job # for entering and tracking the 3 paid sick days related to Covid 19 absences. We are then able to pull JC reports to see which individuals have received the sick pay as a reimbursement claim will be initiated with Worksafe for a maximum reimbursement of $200 per day per worker for the 3 eligible days. I am assuming at this point that any reimbursements from Worksafe may have to be deducted from any CEWS CRA claims as well.
