Tracking Employee Abscenses

Management has asked our HR person to track employee absences.  These would be both excused and unexcused.  At any given time, they want to request a print out of how many abscenses an employee has in a certain time period.  Is anyone doing this?

  • We use PAY ID to track absences.  You have to set up a pay ID through Setup-Pays.  We have ours marked Pay Type = accrual, Units is checked, and Calc Method is flat amount.  You then enter the PAY ID and units when you enter time.  You can customize reports to report just those particular PAY ID's.  See:  Knowlegebase Article Solution ID: 37429 .

  • We also use Pay ID's for a variety of absences.  Each Pay ID # is separate...for example one Pay ID for late, one Pay ID for sick etc. etc.  Then we run reports to use for things such as wage increases, bonus incentives etc.  Works very nicely.

  • We use the Pay ID also and it works well unless the employee is absent for the entire week -

  • Hi - we're building software that integrates with Sage and makes building custom reports as easy as typing a Google search.

For instance, you can type queries like "show all absences by employee from May to September" and get an interactive chart in milliseconds that you can sort, filter, drill-down into, and refresh by typing new queries.
