I have never had that happen.  Do you have the correct date for the week ending?  Using old payroll could be an issue if that month is closed.  You can always go around it by doing a transfer in job cost - tasks - enter direct costs and do an in/out to the correct cost code.

Yes, the week end date is correct. I've always had problem changing posted payroll no matter if it's a closed month or not. However, I never thought to do in/out via Job Cost.. I'm going to do it that way. Thanks!
