Any way to empty Sage 300 CRE log file?

SUGGESTED

In log viewer it is possible to Archive & Delete but it is extremely slow, only being able to handle 200,000 records at a time and the archive only writes 10,000 per file.   I don't want to archive, I just want to delete.  I have tried ODBC connect and using access to delete but get errors, probably due to the number of records in the log file.  Tried PCC but it does not allow access to MASTER.QLM.  It is possible to simply delete the log file and start anew?   or a utility to delete records?

Sage Knowledgebase article 19543 was just updated to include steps to move the QLM file to an archive folder using File Tools.

    Hi DJP -

For customers, I usually incorporate this in a backup script that I write for my customers.  If you are good at Powershell, then I suggest scripting a nightly compressed backup of the Data Folders, and a monthly backup to include the key folders in the 9.5 system directory.  Then I delete the QLM files in the live data after processing the monthly backup.  They are organized with a backup of the datasets as they were at that period of time, and If you need to evaluate the logs...you only have to look at 1 or 2 of 12 backups for the entire year.

Just a different way to slay the same beast.
