Why won't a Windows Task, that was created by Sage 300 CRE SQL Replicator, run?

SOLVED

We found an issue re: Windows Tasks not running on Server 2016, but the solution provided does not seem to fix this issue.  The article is https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/fb7dd1b0-f7dd-40fb-839d-2e58816c1e68/server-2016-task-scheduler-not-working.  We can see the Task in Task Scheduler and have tried changing the configuration when it runs, but cannot ever get it to run (whether manually or automatically).

    Hi Todd,

What is the task that Task Scheduler is trying to run?

Is this the first time you've run the Replicator?

I've found that a common issue when trying to do the first replication is that if there are any files that were renamed due to trying to fix something - for example, master.jcm was renamed to master_old.jcm - the replicator will still recognize that old file as "legitimate" because it still has the *.jcm extension and will stop the process when it finds those files and doesn't like them.  Therefore I've started renaming those files to something like master_jcm.old instead so replicator ignores them.

We ran into the same issue running SQL Replicator. After tracking down what was occurring I ended up creating a new process for any files that we rename to avoid this issue. We had some luck with SQL Replicator, but decided to continue relying on Anterra, a 3rd party product we have found to be more reliable and sustainable.

I remain hopeful a future update will lead to reliability improvements for SQL Replicator as I believe the Mobile Dashboards could provide easily accessible insights in the future.

We worked on this again yesterday and the Task Scheduler is finally working (not even sure how we got that to work), but we are still unable to get the Replicator to replicate the data.  We tested on Construction Sample data after verifying there are the default standard files within the folder.  Received an error message that the Construction Sample Data folder did not contain any data.  Which it does - viewed the files in File Explore and accessed data through Sage Desktop.

    Hi Todd,

You can try starting replication and then click View Status to pull up the live status log and see if you get any errors when it stops.

Otherwise you may want to contact Sage Support and have someone look at it with you.

    Thanks!
