Unfortunately, the program was not designed to store or invoice products by sales person.  There is also no option to limit or exclude a user from invoicing out of a particular warehouse.

Not sure if you were considering this as well, but Sage BusinessWorks does not track costs by warehouse.  Only quantities are tracked by warehouse.  For more information, see Knowledge Base article #57631 What cost is used when I transfer parts from one warehouse to another (57631)

When using Warehoues with Parts, you specify the products Warehouse during SO creation.

the one gatcha, is looking at Parts in Maintain or Inquiry screens is that ALL the Parts show by default

Example:

Warehouse1 = 40 Widgets

Warehouse2 = 50 Widgets

Warehouse3 = 10 Widgets

The screen will show the TOTAL widgets as 100

Until a user changes the look to their specific warehouse

so when the Las Vegas warehouse sells and invoices a widget do they have to manually select the LasVegas warehouse? Or can BW be set up to default to this warehouse ONLY when the widget is sold in LasVegas?

Yes you have to put in the Sales Order, see below, Each item can be shipped from different or the same Warehouse

I would try a out in one of the DEMO/SAMPLE companies, it would take a few hours to setup and try.

In my above screen grab, the product is only available in that warehouse so it is grayed out.  You would have to read up on the Warehouse processes, to learn how to assign parts to the different warehouses etc.

Also the thing about warehouses, once you start it is very difficult to change back to a single warehouse - see KB about going back to a single WH or merging warehouses

the warehouse default can be assign to the part only (not on who sells it or where).  The default warehouse in Maintain Parts will automatically populate the warehouse field on quotes, sales orders and invoices.  For more information on the warehouse and default settings, please see articles:
