Payroll Import

SOLVED

I currently use BenefitMall payroll processing which has a General Ledger import file feature which I use to import the payroll.  Unfortunately, BenefitMall is exiting the payroll processing business.  I have a new payroll processor which I am considering that can produce a general ledger import file for Sage 50 or Sage 100, would anyone know if this import file would work for Business Works?

Thank you,

Neil Burns

    Neil Burns-

In generally, most Sage products have different procedures for importing into their program. Businessworks allows you to import information into our program but you have to follow the instructions for creating the file to be imported. For example, if you want to import into the payroll module, you can only import in Employee Information and employee time cards. Once you import in time cards, the rest of the payroll processing – calculating , printing checks, etc… - would be performed in BusinessWorks. If you go to our KnowledgBase at SageKB.com you can search on articles: How to import employees (87316) and How to import employee time cards (19493)

If you are looking to only import a journal entry to record your payroll entries in the General Ledger module, then you can review article: How to import GL journal entries (35010)

For reference to all the import formats that are allowed in BusinessWorks, refer to article: Import file formats (73278)

    Sincerely,
