When to close Year End

SOLVED

I am using Sage 2019 BusinessWorks programs.  In the past, we were able to keep December and January (modules) open.  When keying in February information, a warning would come up that we were unable to proceed.  The warning stated that "too many months were open".

Will Sage 2019 version allow us to work in February, even though we have December and January modules still open?  They are open because we are waiting on year end entries.

Should we close December and January, yet can we still make year end entries in February?

If you have your Utilities, System Preferences, allow Prior Month Posting set to "yes", then BusinessWorks allows for all the modules except GL and PR - to post 1 month to the future, but up to 12 months to the past.  For GL entries, you can post 12 months to the future and 24 months to the past.  For PR, you can post to a current month, or a month in the current quarter.  For more information, you can go to the Knowledge Base (www.SageKB.com) and search on article #18022 "How to post prior and future transactions"
