short answer is no.  

I would rename the non- stock item -   and then create a new part with the old name

Rename  ->   "~NONSTOCK"      by using the tilde ~   it bumps the part to the bottom of the Alphabetical order of parts, we had used the letter Z before but then someone needed a part that started with Z

We also use the tilde symbol to mark de-active parts, and every once in a while I check to see if they can be deleted (trash can)
