Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008-based Terminal Server, Windows Small Business Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Small Business Server 2011 on January 14, 2020 are you prepared?
When Microsoft ends their support for an operating system, that operating system will also no longer be supported by Sage BusinessWorks. Please review the information below for instructions on what needs to be done to move your Sage BusinessWorks software:
Has Windows Server 2019 been tested yet?
We do have customers using Windows Server 2019 with no issues, it just hasn't formally been tested yet. The only time you may have an issue is if there is a specific issue that is determined to be OS based but as of this time we have not seen any reported issues.
So for someone with Windows Server 2008 R2 right now, I am limited to Windows Server 2016 at upgrade to a new server with BusinessWorks 2019 SP3 instead of use of (the Windows Server 2016 "Upgraded" per our MCSE) Windows Server 2019? Thank you for your assistance, patience and understanding dilemma!
Typically once Windows stops supporting an operating system most Sage products do as well but I would check with your specific product for confirmation.
Most likely Sage BusinessWorks 2020 will be tested with Server 2019. I would say it should be tested in the next couple months.
