What Sage Ideas have been implemented?

To help you stay organized we've added some new functionality based on your top-ranking Sage Ideas suggestions.

Added: Pay period Start Date field

Payroll statements now show the pay period start date. Both the Payroll Journal and Payroll Run Journal windows now show the period start date field. It's also printed on pre-printed payroll cheques and direct deposit stubs. Customized forms can now  add the field, and it's a column available to be added into the Employee Detail Report.

Added: Ability to attach linked files

You can now easily add links to files in sales, purchase invoices, vendor payments, customer receipts and GL transactions. With a single click you can add a linked file and view it.

Improved: EFT Direct Deposit log

You can now simplify the audit of Electronic File Transfers (EFT). The Direct Deposit Log now shows a generation file number column, as well as, a total amount column, transaction count and allows corrections to be filtered out by going to Modify > Report Options… > uncheck "Show Corrections". Furthermore, the last page of the upload wizard now includes a box option for launching the Direct Deposit log upon file generation.

Improved: Vendor T4As Validation

Starting with this release, if you create T4As for your vendors, Sage 50 validates the format of the vendor's SIN or CRA business numbers for the form.

Sage 50C Enhancements

Did you know that a Sage 50c subscription includes 1 Business premium license for Office 365? Yes, this means that access is included to top programs such as Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Excel. View this blog for more integration details.

New Integration with Sage One Start

Without much effort you can now download transactions from Sage One Start to Sage 50 CA.

Improvements to the Office 365 Integration

Business Builders can now capture and document their purchases and expenses when they are away from the office through the Sage Capture mobile app.

Introducing: the Sage Capture app!

This app lets you ditch paper and never lose a receipt again! You can take a picture using your iPhone or iPad of supplier receipts and bills using Sage Capture, saving them to Microsoft's One Drive, later posting the transactions to your Sage 50c all from your mobile or tablet. The Sage Capture app helps you stay on top of your expenses and purchases even when you're away from the office!

Sage Intelligence Reporting Cloud

More on this next blog, but as you can guess, the new Sage Intelligence Reporting Cloud (SIRC) also builds on the Sage 50c and Office 365 Integration.

With it, you can view financial reports from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone without having to go into Sage 50 without requesting the report from your accountant or bookkeeper. Take advantage of the power of Excel and either use a built in report or build a new one!

Note: Only 3 years of data are uploaded from Sage 50 to Office 365 to use for Sage Intelligence Reporting Cloud (SIRC).

Once your data is uploaded to Office 365, access SIRC by going to https://sage50c.sageintelligence.com.

There, you'll be able to click on Data Load to connect to the data source. This will allow you to select one of the Sage 50 companies uploaded to Office 365.

Follow this up by selecting options to Create a Report, to Quick Create a Report, to Create a Folder, and to Import Report as shown on the image below. HTML and Excel are the two types of report formats available.

Hope you're now as excited as we are about this update! Stay tuned for more and view our blog on how to enter and vote for more Sage Ideas!
