What’s New

State and Local Tax Changes

  1. District of Columbia Paid Family Leave
    Newly introduced and contributions made by Employer only.
    ACTION REQUIRED:See KB 100162 for setup instructions.
  2. Idaho State Income Tax
    The 2019 tax calculation formula changed.
  3. Massachusetts Paid Medical and Family Leave 
    Newly introduced and Employee share contribution required; for companies with more than 25 employees, both Employee and Employer contribute.
    ACTION REQUIRED:See KB 100164 for setup instructions.
  4. City of Philadelphia Local Income Tax
    The 2019 tax calculation formula changed in July for Residents and Non-residents.

Making Sure Your Tax Update is Applied

This update was sent to you automatically through your product. The version for this tax update is 20190801 for releases 2019 and 2020. Follow these steps to make sure that your tax update was applied:

  1. Open your Sage 50 company
  2. Select Help > About Sage 50 Accounting
  3. Confirm that the Installed Tax Update version number matches the version number listed above
  4. If your Installed Tax Update version number does not match:
  5. Select ServicesCheck for Updates > Check Now
  6. If multiple updates appear, select the update(s) you want to install, then select Download
  7. After the download is finished, exit Sage 50 and the update will begin
