Purchase Price Var Acct

Is it possible to set up a different Purchase Price Var Acct for each Item Class?

I'm pretty sure you can't set up different accounts by item class.  However in Set Up PO Options their is a section for Account Override Segments.  It doesn't say in the help files it will segment substitute for the variance accounts but you could test it and see.  I think that's as close as you can get.  Maybe Dhart knows for sure.

Theoretically, maybe, but ***I have not tested*** and I'm not sure if it's practical for you.

Set up IM Options allows you to apply a GL segment Override by Purchase Product Line (PPL) in addition to by Warehouse,  Batch, and Sales Product Line. If you have a segment in your GL Account structure that represents Item Class AND if you mimic those Item Classes as the items' PPL, you could enable (IN A TEST DATABASE) the "Apply PPL Override" for the Purchase Price Variance row in Set Up IM Options and run some sample transactions which you know will trigger a Purchase Price Variance through.

My hesitation is due to the fact that

    1. PPL Override is not displayed in Set Up PO Options. The only Account Override Segments displayed in PO are Vendor Class, Batch, and Department, and
    2. None of the displayed overrides can be selected for the Purchase Price Variance row in Set Up PO Options
