Emailing from Sage 300 to multiple email addresses

Hello,

I would like to know how to send emails from Sage 300 to multiple email addresses at the same time in Sage 300 ERP.

I see that under Customer there is a place to enter an email address and in the Contacts Tab, the same. Then in the Processing Tab for Delivery Method, it only gives the option of emailing to only one of those email locations. I have tried entering two addresses on the same line with a semicolon in between, but it gave me an error message.

Anything else I should try?

The semi colon should work fine - what's the error? Alternatively have a look a Key Communications from Pacific Technologies. It expands customer and vendor contacts to be unlimited allows you to set and which docs go to which contacts. Also logs all emails and attachments sent out.

One problem is that the email address fields are only 50 characters long.

Another thing to consider are using email groups. If you create a group called, say, "eg" and the customer number, you can send an email to that group and it will be sent out to each of the people on that list.

The error says "Description: Crystal Reports Error: Invalid export options." Which I have also tried to fix with little luck.

Either way, in general, the 50 character length is very limiting. Thank you I will try to look into Key Communications.

Through further research, I came across using a Distribution List in Outlook as a solution. However I am a bit confused how that would work. If anyone knows about that, please share.

Creating distributions lists in Outlook

So if you create a distribution list called: ABC123 then you can set the email field to ABC123 and it will send the email to ABC123 and that, in turn, will have Outlook email everyone in that distribution group.

In Outlook click People and then New Contact Group. Add a group name for your customer and then Add Members.

Then how do I enter that distribution list to a customer email in Sage 300 in a way that Sage will be able to identify? [email protected]? Or will Sage automatically recognize it as ABC123 because Outlook will recognize it? I believe that is where I finally got stuck. . . .

Just enter ABC123

You can also set up a distribution list and include yourself and someone else in your office and run some tests.
