slow printing

We recently upgraded to Sage 300 2020.  We have the Accpac server on a virtual server with 4 processors and 32 GB Ram.  The Accpac virtual disk sits on a qnap with 16 Sata disks connected to the hyper v server with a 10GB switch.  The SQL server is sql 2017 virtual machine and is all on local storage with 10k SAS disks, 4 procs and 32GB Ram.
We loaded the new Sage 300 2019 onto a new server, with new name(no upgrade) and during the cutover installed windows 10 on all the workstations.  After finishing the accpac setup and getting all the clients connected my users logged on to test.
Everything seemed to work fine and about two weeks after the install the users started noticing a slowdown when printing reports.  These are not custom reports, they are the stock reports for AP and AR transactions.   The user will open the report interface and select their parameters.  Then when they hit print there is a box that pops up so fast you cant see what it is (sub second) and then the print dialogue sits there for 10 - 15 seconds and if you try to click anything it says not responding.   Once the print preview finally pops up then the user hits print and it takes 2-3 seconds to print.
If the user selects the general ledger reports the box does not pop up and it takes only about 3-5 seconds for the report.
What I have tested:
Turned off antivirus and rebooted: no effect
removed old environment variables and rebooted: no effect
verified it is not custom reports: so not any crystal reports variables
Ran the report in a test company with almost no data and same thing happened (box pops up so quick you cant see it and 10-15 seconds for print preview)
Areas I am looking at as possible issue:
Notes: we didn't start using the notes feature until a couple weeks after the upgrade so turning it on could have caused the slow down.
NAS storage: could be a problem with speed in the NAS ( I have made no changes to the NAS though)
Connection to SQL: sql is on another machine so could be switch issues ( I have made no changes to the network setup though)
If anyone has any idea what this box that pops up could be, if it is a problem, or any ideas how to speed that part of the process up it would be helpful.
