I am looking to implement regional pricing in accpac (sage 300)

The problem is that only a few items will have differences, primarily due to logistical costs.

The items are not in range (by item number) nor in the same category.

Currently we evaluated impelmenting multiple price lists but this can soon get out of hand if you have 2000+ skus and 10-12 regions (price lists). Maintaining this would be a nightmare in my opinion.

Also since the regions are "arbitrary", defined based on business parameters rather then geographic regions or postal codes, we could end up with different regions based on different suppliers and vendors. 

I am wondering if anybody has implemented any such solution and how to go about it. Ideally, there should be an ability to have a price list that contains say 5 items - and customer pricing would be based on that price list, then have an option to pull prices for items that don't exist in the list from a default price list. this could be an "ic setup" parameter. A price list hierarchy of sorts ?
