Details from AP to GL (GL Integration changes)

I'm trying to add more information from AP into the GL and I know it is done through the GL Integration in the AP Setup.  I also understand that it is not retro active and that it only applies to new batches posted.  I've tried about 3 different things now and am not getting the level of detail that I need.  From the AP Invoice Entry, I need the Line Description to show up in the GL (not the main description), as sometimes the line description varies for each item coded.  I've managed to get the main description to show up in the GL, by adding "Detail Description" to the G/L Detail Reference in the Integration Detail, but like I said it's still not quite right.  It's actually a pain to make a change,wait for the next batch to be posted to see if it worked - any suggestions on what I should be changing to speed a long this process (or maybe it can't be done)?  Thanks!!

    Is it on the control accounts you are losing the entry?  as there can be multiple lines these ones will not be able to do it, it will only work on the expense lines.

    Create a copy company and do all your testing not in a live database to ensure you can get the results quickly.

    I was looking for the details on the expense lines - not the control accounts, so that when you print the GL txn listing for an expense account, you can have the appropriate description, rather than having to open the AP batch to see the description AP entered.

    I would like to accomplish this as well. Did you figure out a solution, ChristK? Or, if we cannot get the detail on the GL Transaction Listing, is there at least a report we can run from AP?

    Yes, I did get this to work for our needs.  Trying to remember what I did...

    Went into AP GL Integration, then transaction tab.

    Chose:

    Txn Type : Invoice Detail

    GL Txn Field: GL Detail Reference

    Added 'Detail Description' to the segment currently used.

    So when I run the a GL account, I show the Document Number - Description.

    I played with so many things, but I think that's the change that worked.  And it'll only work going forward - you won't be able to see any of it on the history.  Only new transactions.
