Last week, we showed you how to create/customize a new visual process flow in Sage 300 ERP. This week, we are going to outline how to assign the process flows that you created as well as existing process flows to a user.

After you save your new visual process flow and then close the Visual Process Flow Designer, you will notice that your newly created process does not appear under the Visual Process Flows menu.

The reason why is, by default, custom process flows are not enabled even for the Admin user. To assign your newly created visual process flow, go to Administrative Services then click on Assign Visual Process Flows.

Next select the user you want to assign the process flow to, for example Admin and make sure you check Custom Process Flows. You can also assign that user only certain Visual Process Flow Templates. Once you’ve assigned a user, hit close.

You should now see the Custom Visual Process Flow that you created listed underneath the Visual Process Flow menu.

Also, when you create a new process you can link processes from different modules. For example, you can create a Visual Process flow that had Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Inventory Control or any process that you want. It is as simple as linking it up to the individual process.

So that is how you assign a visual process flow. If you have any questions about creating or assigning a visual process flow, sound off in the comments.

If you have any questions, please let us know. We would like to hear from you!
