New Sage 100 2020 Advanced Installation - Poor Performance

SOLVED

We're in the process of upgrading from Sage 100 2017 Standard to Sage 100 2020, and while I'm not clear on the details (the accounting guys take care of that) based on our license we apparently were able to acquire Sage 100 2020 Advanced free of charge, so we did. However, during testing I'm finding that the creation of direct deposit stub PDF files on our file server via Paperless Office is taking far longer than it used to: 30 seconds per stub, as opposed to about 0.33 seconds per stub with Sage 100 2017 Standard. Switching the destination to a local path on the server changes the time to about 10 seconds per stub, which is still way too long for our needs. The server is a VM, but I've double-checked everything (CPU, memory, disk, network) and can't find anything amiss. It's configured the same way as all our other VMs, and is hosted on a server that's not doing much (and is the only VM on that particular server). I adjusted CPU allocation way upward just to see if it would make any difference, but it didn't. In addition I'm noticing Payroll Tax Calculation and direct deposit stub printing taking longer as well, though not as badly. There is no virus scan program on the server, or any other programs on the server for that matter. Anyone have any ideas by any chance? Thank you for your help!

did you activate the use of CSODBC on the server and workstations?

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know about CSODBC! I went ahead and enabled it, and it took the time way down, to 4 seconds per stub going to our file server or just 2.5 seconds per stub going to a local path. This is way, way better than it was, though still much worse than it was with Standard (750 stubs x 0.33 sec/stub = ~4 minutes, whereas with Advanced it'd be 750 stubs x 2.5 sec/stub = ~30 minutes). Payroll Tax Calculation and other reports are also still taking a lot longer than they did with Standard as well, anyone know why that might be the case?

Question for you. When you say "creation of direct deposit stub PDF files on our file server", do you mean a server other than the one that Sage is installed on? If so, as a test, I would try to create PDFs on the Sage server, preferably under the same SharePoint, and see how long that takes.

Yes sir, with Sage 100 2017 Standard it takes 0.33 second per stub to create on our file server, but with Sage 100 2020 Advanced with CSODBC enabled it takes 4 seconds per stub. Saving them to a path directly on the Sage server itself brings it down to 2.5 seconds per stub. May not sound like a lot, but when you're printing 750 stubs it changes it from 4 minutes total to 30 minutes total! In addition, even just printing the stubs takes longer than it did with Standard, as well as Payroll Tax Calculation
