AR Invoice History Inquiry Launched from Customer Maintenance Slow

SOLVED

Using 2019 Premium Product Update 2.  Can't seem to find a pattern, but sometimes when drilling down to a historical invoice from Customer Maintenance, it takes a considerable amount of time for the historical invoice to appear.  I've replicated the issue on both client workstations and Sage application server.  Just curious if anyone else has experienced and/or found a resolution to it?  (KB article 38605, which I believe references the same issue, can only offer 'Pause before opening another invoice' as a resolution, but that doesn't seem to work 100% either)

Hey Justin, we're having the same issue with Premium. Have you found a solution? Our consultant is currently working with Sage to try and figure it out. All other facets of Sage are running remarkably well, but this window (going to AR Invoice History Inquiry from Customer Inquiry), takes anywhere from 20 to 60+ seconds to open about 90% of the time. Still, sometimes it opens in 2 seconds (normal). We're in these windows all day every day, so it's killing our productivity.

Unfortunately not, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could relay any possible resolutions your consultant ends up with.  Thanks.

    SUGGESTED

Any chance you have some records in the AR History tables that have blank values in any of the key fields?

I think i recall seeing other posts where having some bad records in the primary table causes a considerable delay when using the record navigation buttons or the lookups.

Hi David,  I was really hoping I'd find some records with blanks like you mentioned, but unfortunately not.  I checked AR_InvoiceHistory/Detail, AR_OpenInvoice, and AR_InvoiceHistoryLotSerial.

Just curious - anyone having this issue that are NOT using Premium?

Hey guys, so through some testing we were able to figure out that it was only happening with invoices that were printed in our previous version of Sage. The links to the paperless office forms for those invoices were broken, and it was taking Sage a long time to, I guess, search for them. We were able to repair those links by going to Link Maintenance Utility in Library Master. Select the module (we use S/O for our billing), hit refresh, and allow it time to populate all of the documents. It will list all broken links in red. Highlight the section that you want to relink to your new paperless folder by copying and pasting the new file path.

Justin, hopefully this is the same issue you're having so you can fix it! If you haven't changed where your paperless forms are stored, then this might not be the solution for you.

Just tested some of the invoices and they are now opening immediately.

    Hi b.mauck,

I was REALLY hoping we had paperless invoices out there with broken links, but unfortunately not Disappointed  Thanks for the suggestion though.
