Order Processing and Tracking Solutions for Sage 100 ERP 2013?

SUGGESTED

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of a good system that will help track orders as they're being processed by integrating with Sage? I'm hoping to find something that has a good way to help us keep things on track as orders are being picked, processed and shipped. Even if there was a good system that just helped us keep watch over orders that have some kind of issue that's causing a delay, it would be helpful. Ideally, this system will integrate with Sage, so that each order will go into it, it will show the orders with something easy to read that's color-coded, perhaps (green, yellow, red), and, it will allow multiple users to use it at once with live updates.

Sage Alerts and Workflow and DataSelf Business Intelligence come to mind.  Both can do web based dashboards.  Note that when a sales order is shipped and the invoice posted then the Order no longer exist in the Open Sales Order files, only in the history files.

It looks interesting - I'll have to look into it further.

Do you know of anything that helps manage open orders better? It could be something that's an additional available Sage module, customizations, reporting (as long as it's possible to automate or run in very streamlined ways so I can get the reports daily and everyone who needs them can review them), or something from a 3rd party developer, particularly something that has a web interface or a system that allows multiple users to view order status live or close to live.

Thank you - from what I can tell Alerts and Workflow looks like it's mostly intended to help with Accounts Receivable, however, I haven't looked into it enough. What I'm really looking for is something to help manage open orders - do you happen to know of anything or know if the systems you mentioned already will do a good job of this?

SA&W is an ODBC reporting tool, and can query SO tables just fine.

What business problems are you trying to solve?

Sage Alerts and Work Flow is the best for getting reports daily, hourly.  They can send emails, text messages, publish to a web page. Lots of options plus you can download a free copy and try it for a month. In the emails you can use HTML and hyperlinks when sending to customers or vendors. Very powerful and versatile

We use KnowledgeSync (Sage Alerts and Workflow) to keep tabs on exceptions. Most orders are okay, but it's the ones that are exceptions that cause issues. For example, email alerts when an order has been sitting too long without getting shipped. Or emails to people alerting them of a new rush order that gets entered. Or an order tagged for free shipping that someone added freight costs to. Things like that.

I don't know how I missed this response - I'm sorry. I'm trying to help keep orders on track, since we have a lot of problems and our manufacturing process is complex, involving a lot of overseas purchasing, as well as processing in our facility. Often times, an order isn't able to be fulfilled, or the facility ships incorrectly in some way or other. These are problems on their own, but I need to be able to have a tracking sheet that clearly shows where each order is and what's going on with it.

To be honest this type of situation cannot be answered on this forum. This is a situation where someone like Kevin, a reseller consultant comes on site and works with you. Someone who knows Sage Alerts and Work Flow, ScanForce and other third party options and can arrange demos. Where are you located.

    Exactly what BigLouie said.

It sounds like you actually need to get a handle on the workflow, not the orders.  You might want to reach out to a manufacturing specialist.  Production Management / Operations Management (JobOps) deal with those considerations and you should have a detailed discussion with someone.

If you just need help managing raw material inventory, take a look at Sage Inventory Advisor.
