Is CRM 2022 R1 going to be certified for Windows Server 2022?

The newly released CRM 2022 R1 only lists Windows Server 2016 and 2019 as supported. Is it going to be certified for use on Windows Server 2022 which came out in September last year? The newly released Sage 200 2022 R1 does support Windows Server 2022 but the CRM restriction would mean you could not use the latest operating system on combined systems.

Thanks,

Mark.

Windows Server 2022 is on the QA list for Sage CRM 2022 R2 due to be released at the end of July. (ETA in UKI early August).

Windows Server 2016 reached its end of mainstream support at the end of January 2022.  So that will be dropped for Sage CRM 2022 R2.

The main changes in Windows Server 2022 are focused on security, Azure features.  We don't anticipate any difficulties with using Sage CRM with Windows Server 2022.  It is essentially an uplift of Windows Server 2019, quoting Microsoft  "Windows Server 2022 is built on the strong foundation of Windows Server 2019".

As Sage CRM 2022 R2 is due for release in the near future clients are starting to ask about Windows Server 2022 compatibility.  Whilst the Sage CRM Help Center (https://help.sagecrm.com/) does not list Sage CRM 2022 R2 it appears that the Sage CRM 2022 R2 system requirements are actually available at https://help.sagecrm.com/pdf/2022R2/SageCRM_2022R2_HardwareSoftwareRequirements_EN.pdf.  Having looked through these I see no mention of Windows Server 2022?

Whilst it may be possible to run Sage CRM on platforms which are not supported for a client's production environment it is important that their platform is officially supported.  Without this support in writing Sage technical support can refuse to assist us with an issue where the client is running on an unsupported platform.  There is also a potential issue of compliance and insurance for clients in running software on unsupported platforms.
