We set up the Web2Lead form which successfully sets up the new lead in the system. Now, we need to have an email sent to the user so that they are aware that they have a new lead

This is easy to do with a Quick (Simple Notification). This video explains how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylO6jTcPJnc&t=2s&ab_channel=SageCustomerSupportandTraining The example in the video is for a Case but you can create a Notification for Leads in the same way.
