Issue with document drop in any version from 2020R1 to 2021R1

Has anyone picked up on the issue that the new (non-ActiveX) document drop plugin does not make the file name unique???

If I drag and drop (or Add File) MyFile.docx to CRM and create either a document or communication, then make changes to the document and drag and drop (or Add File) to CRM again it overwrites the original MyFile.docx in the Library folder so both communications pick up the latest file...

This has been logged via local support desk BUT thought it may be worthwhile letting you know!!

Advice to affected users has been to include a manual date/time text into all document names prior to attaching into CRM...

Hopefully we'll see this fixed soon.

    How has this not been fixed in 6 months,

    if you complete these steps using documents tab, the system appears to append the filename with (1), but not if you dorp form communications tab

    although the above workaround does work, it is less than ideal and really adds significant workload when dragging emails directly from Outlook
