To my knowledge, no there isn't a way. The reasoning I would imagine is that you may install a component, then make subsequent changes to your system, and then if you removed the component, you'd lose your subsequent changes. If the component made standard changes, you would need to go through and manually undo what it has done. It is possible, but not easy. If you've just added it in error, then you would be better off going back to that backup you hopefully made before you installed it.
Thank you Vega for your prompt reply.
I also thought the same but I am confused due to the below link from Sage CRM help --
I am wondering, how does this Sage official link is saying the uninstallation is that easy just with the 5 steps. And also we are not able to find the option mentioned in the 4th step (Select Check this to uninstall the <component>.) in Sage CRM.
Please help me understand this.
Hello
I've written a little about removing components here: www.sagecity.com/.../some-thoughts-about-removing-a-component
Thank you so much Sage CRM for your reply.
I went through the link you have shared.
It means that there is no straightforward way provided by Sage to uninstall the component.
In your link, you have written that --
"If you look at some of the example components created by the Sage team that are made available in the Marketplace then you will see that the component has an uninstall option when it is run. This is a flag in the component parameters."
This means the below Sage CRM help link is saying about uninstalling the example component created by Sage and by default this is NOT applicable to the custom components created by us.
Please let me know if my understanding is correct.
Yes. That checkbox would only exist in components that are designed to be uninstalled.
Thank you Sage CRM. It is now clear to me.
