I am using Sage CRM 2019 R2 and I can't reproduce this.

I added a new custom field to communications (comm_dummy) with the caption 'Dummy'.  I added the column to the list CalendarList and it showed the caption correctly in the list of fields and then in the user interface.

Within

Administration -> Customisation -> Communication

Please can you check the definition of the list CalendarList and within the screen on the right hand side where you pick the fields for the list - does the column show in the pick list correctly translated?

The column shown in the pick list are correctly translated. See the screen shot below.

But unfortunately any changes made in this screen is not effecting the calendar list ( Tried to add new column and removed existing, but no change was effected on the screen). The CRM Version used is 2018 R3. I tried another CRM with same version, works perfectly.

The only thing I noticed strange was there were some extra space coming with the field name.

I think then the system is looking for translation of field name with extra space. But the translation screen not allows to create any field with extra space trim extra space if any and trim the space if any.

My question is if the screen is not effected by any changes to the list -'Calendar List', Then from where this data come from? 

Is there any possibility to edit the column header?

It does look like there is a problem with the translation.  I note that you say that this works in another instance of CRM so this indicates the issue is local.

The column caption is defined within the custom_edits and Custom_Captions metadata tables.

For example - the details for a column called 'comm_dummy' can be accessed using

select * from Custom_Edits where ColP_ColName = 'comm_dummy'

select * from custom_captions where capt_code = 'comm_dummy'

Have a look here to see if there is anything unusual.

Make sure the "Colp_Colname" in the "Custom_edits" table is actually "comm_hasattachments" and not "comm_hasattachments                                   ".

What are the datatypes of these fields (colp_colname, capt_code), are they NChar or NVarChar?

It is possible that Tomcat (JDBC) doesn't handle NChar fields the same as CRM, I am not too familiar with it though.

I would suggest running this script to convert all NChar fields to NVarChar (back up the database before): gist.github.com/.../255fa65843b2865e7b4ebcc71d4c5326

Data type is NVarChar  for these fields.

Have you considered clearing and reentering the caption code and each of the translations?

Yes I have tried. I tried to clear and re-entered the caption code in translation screen. I even deleted and recreated the one. Nut no change.

I think the issue is rising from the calendar list screen. The column header fields is looking up the translation using the wrong code(field name with space).

Have you done an IISReset on the server? I've had this happen recently for a report on the dashboard, only after a reset did the column started showing correctly.

Yes. I have done an IISReset. But the column  remains the same :(

Kindly note that the issue is occurred with CRM that is recently updated. We have been serving this customer for last 10 years. 

Hi, i have a similar issue. With the PT language (Sage language pack) , a javascript error is produced (too much recurrence). No error with ES langiage or EN.

I try to change translation of suspicious field (Action), and delete field from CalendarList, but no chenges to the Calendar list tab...

I think you should start a new thread.  If you can include the screen shots of the error and more detail of where the error happens.

I've had this issue today, and been able to resolve it.

While all the field definitions on custom_edits were correctly set as nvarchar,  and colp_prefix and colp_colname correctly RTRIMmed, the issue was actually with grip_colname on custom_lists - it was still an nchar(40), 

I modified this to being an nvarchar(40), ran an RTRIM on the column (though out of caution just on the rows for the calendar list), then refreshed metadata and restarted tomcat. We're now picking up the captions.
