I'm not sure if an external/third-party solution is an option, but I have developed an integration that sits on the dashboard.

It also can display the pins of more than just Company (i.e. Leads, Companies, custom entities). We can color-code the pins based on a specific system stored value that has validation (i.e. the comp_type dropdown).

A quick caveat is that it is "dashboard only" as of right now.  Most of our customers don't want/need the pins displayed on the Company Summary screen or anywhere else.

Basil  this is an interesting plugin you have developed, are there any use cases other than just a visual representation of address locations on the map?

Also are you planning to put this in the Add-Ons section as a commercial add on?

It's a bit limited beyond displaying points of interest on a map. However, there is a world of potential that I have yet to have the opportunity to explore. Tapping into the Google Maps API, we are really limited in the application of it to the customer's need. 

One piece I'm hoping to be able to explore is transportation companies that require routing and GPS monitoring of their fleet. In theory you could display them all on the map in real time as well as track the trip. Based on certain parameters, you could even set off a notification if a fleet vehicle has been moving for longer than an allotted period (ensuring proper safety regulations are adhered to) or stopped for longer than a certain time frame.

There's plenty of potential, but circling back to your original question - no, there's not much developed functionality beyond displaying points of interest and/or color-coding them. As far as listing as an add-on, the problem is that it's more of a service than an actual solution. While it would be nice to say it can be downloaded and implemented, the reality is that each requested map has been different. As such, it's not a product per se.
