Changing the Customer Number in Sage CRM error with Sage Integration

When trying to process an AR Customer number change, it changes in Sage but not in Sage CRM. The error received is: "E/W Sage CRM CustomerFile: ..., viewUpdate Failed." I've found the following post, "https://community.sagecrm.com/user_community/f/84/p/14153/40655.aspx#40655 " but it was not answered. This is concerning Sage 300c 2019 integration with Sage CRM 2018 R3. I've read that the customer number is a foreign key, used to link between the two, but still would like to know if it is possible or not. I appreciate any help and advice.
