Advisory: Sage CRM 2022 R2 Fix available to address error "The resource cannot be processed. Comm_ChannelId - Error - Invalid data.", when importing emails.

When importing emails in Sage 2022 R2, you may experience an error “The resource cannot be processed. Comm_ChannelId - Error - Invalid data”

We have resolved this error by making changes to the emailMailListViewModel.js file, available for download: https://community.sagecrm.com/partner_community/m/fixes_and_workarounds/28752.aspx

The new emailMailListViewModel.js contains three communication fixes. When an email is imported,

  1. The organizer is set to user’s ID.
  2. The channel is set to user’s Channel ID.
  3. The territory is set to the user’s primary territory. 

To make the change download and replace the emailMailListViewModel.js file in [install dir]\WWWRoot\js\emailcontactlist.

Ensure to clear the browser cache, once you have completed the above edit or replaced the emailMailListViewModel.js file. You will then be able to import emails as expected.

This issue will be resolved in the next release of Sage CRM.

Note

It is important to note that this issue only occurs on Sage CRM 2022 R2.

This fix has been tested by replacing the emailMailListViewModel.js file in [install dir]\WWWRoot\js 2022 R2 install.

This applies to Sage CRM stand-alone and when integrated with Sage accounting products. Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage 200, Sage 1000, Sage 300, Sage X3 and Sage Intacct.
