Advisory: Internet Explorer will not be supported in Sage CRM 2022 R1 onwards

Microsoft has announced that it is retiring Internet Explorer next year. A blog article was shared yesterday (19th May 2021) by Sean Lyndersay, a Microsoft Edge program manager.

"the Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will be retired and go out of support on June 15, 2022, for certain versions of Windows 10."
Microsoft's Official "Lifecycle FAQ - Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge" document was updated today 20th May 2021. This announces that for Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel
"Starting June 15, 2022, the IE11 desktop application will no longer be supported."
Sage has previously blogged (14th December 2020) that aspects of the Outlook Integration are dependent on ActiveX and IE11.
Sage CRM 2021 R2 is currently in development with a planned release date of Friday 30th July 2021. Sage CRM 2021 R2 will be the last version of Sage CRM tested with Internet Explorer. Support for Internet Explorer will therefore end from Sage CRM 2022 R1.
Sage CRM 2022 R1 will include a new version of the Outlook Integration to remove all dependency on Internet Explorer and ActiveX.
This applies for Sage CRM stand alone and when integrated with Sage accounting products. Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage 200, Sage 300, Sage X3 and Sage Intacct.
