Hi everyone,
Does leads have numbers like quotations and invoices have numbers? If not how do we identify the leads.

Hi Abdiel
Leads don't have numbers, you would identify them by their Description field like Opportunities.
There are things that could be done though if you wanted an unique numbering system. One which I do all the time is a SQL Trigger on the table, which populates a text field on screen with the SQL ID of the record (I also put some text in front so for Opportunities you get ON1001 or something like that) - using the SQL ID then makes finding the record in the database nice and straightforward for troubleshooting purposes.
Thank Matthew for your reply. This helps
In the past I have used the same mechanism that cases and solutions have where the system generates you a new reference number. To do that you modify the eware_default_values stored procedure and add an additional couple of lines to the if statement in the same way the cases and solutions have been done. Then you can create a new field with type stored procedure and use the same column name as the one you specify in the stored procedure. CRM will then generate you a new unique reference number each time you create a lead
Just to note, when you upgrade CRM, the stored procedure will be overwritten so keep a copy of it somewhere.
I have written about how the reference id Opportunities and Cases are generated here: The Sage CRM StoredProc Data Type - Sage CRM Hints, Tips and Tricks - Sage CRM - Sage City Community
Quotes and Orders use a different mechanism to generate their reference numbers. Sage CRM 2021 R2: UX improvements - Configuration of Quote/Order merge document names - Sage CRM Hints, Tips and Tricks - Sage CRM - Sage City Community
This works great, Thank you
