Send Quote. Changing the email template deletes PDF attachment.

A customer has a requirement for sending quotes in different languages.

Using the “Send Quote” function to send a quote by email, CRM opens the send email screen with the quote attached as a PDF. This is OK.

But, if you change the email template, to choose another one in a different language the attachment was deleted.

Is this a normal behaviour?

    I would say yes it is 'normal' behaviour - when changing the email template, all attachments removed/added as per the template you selected. Whether it is 'correct' behaviour is another question. 

    I suggest raising this with your local Sage support as a change request

    There isn't an obvious work around but... I tested in Sage CRM 2022 R2. I can start the merge to PDF of a Quote. This allows me to select the quote template that I want to use (this ability was introduced in Sage CRM 2021 R2) that matches the language of the person being sent the email. The generated quote or order is then attached to the new email message in the next step. But at the next step the default template "Send Quote Email" is used. If that email template is changed the newly merged document is lost.
    BUT this technique may be suitable for customers that frequently send quotes and need to send different versions of the Quote email (for example in different languages).
    1) System Administrator creates multiple versions of "Send Quote Email" e.g. "ES_Send Quote", "DE_Send Quote". These templates must be set either for "All Entities" or "Quotes". These new templates can have default attachments associated with them from the Shared Documents (Global Library).
    2) The default "Send Quote Email" must be renamed "EN_Send Quote".
