Use Built-in Quote Function

Does anyone know if its possible to use the built-in quote function that CRM has when you are also integrated to an ERP?

I have a client that wants to be able to input 'Sample Requests' for products, they really aren't orders or quotes, so they don't want them mixed in with the ERP orders.

It will depend on the integration. What Sage accounting system are you using?

I can only speak for Sage 200 customers, but yes Sage 200 CRM (and not Standalone) allows you to use the standard Quote screens within CRM, which can then be 'converted' into a Sage 200 order.

Great for remote users and only where the quote is something simple like "1x Product Y and 10x Product Z".

I think you will need to speak with the Sage 100 support team. I don't have a copy of the integration available to me to test.
