Can I upload a list of company names to automatically assign them an account status which is in a drop down?

we have thousands of company accounts in our database and they are not accurate based on a drop down of 1. Active, Inactive, Closed, Archive.

I'd like to have all the status's cleared and only selected a status if I upload a a list of the company account names as that status. I know Salesforce does something similar and I am new to sage, hoping they do as well!

Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you!

Do you mean you want to clear out the current data, then update the values through some kind of import?

Yes. Would it be possible to clear a just a certain field and not the entire account?

You could null certain fields, then if in a spreadsheet you had the Company ID, and then the value you actually wanted.

I.e

1001 Active

1002 Inactive

1003 Active

I would normally import this into a temporarily tab within SQL and do a SQL query to update the company table where the IDs matched.

We only have SAGE 7.2 version. Do we have the availability to use an SQL?

CRM will be installed into SQL, so you'll need someone with access / knowledge to export out and import back in again the change you require.
