MailChimp Integration with SAGE - Help with Email grouping

My Question is as follows: I want to efficiently manage my CRM contacts for MailChimp marketing campigns through groups. How do I do it best?

Background: I have roughly under 2000 total sage subscribers. I am trying to import all contacts to ONE single Mailchimp list ID (master list). From the master list, create a group with subgroups such as CA clients only, FL clients only, ect and import the sage group to the specific mailchimp list group.

What is the best way to manage and effectively do this. Thanks.

Sage CRM works with a single MailChimp list.

You don't mention which version with which you are working but I would strongly encourage you to look at the new features of Sage CRM 7.3 sp3 (community.sagecrm.com/.../27971.aspx).

The integration works in a particular way and Sage CRM assumes that it is in the driving seat. You create what we call a group in Sage CRM that is then used within a Sage CRM 'mailchimp' campaign. The 'Group' list is sent from Sage CRM to MailChimp to create a segment within the overall MailChimp list. This is becomes a Static Segment in MailChimp. That Static Segment is then used for the outbound email. The results, opens, clicks, soft and hard bounces are recorded against the Static Segment and then sync'd back to Sage CRM.

Once a Sage CRM contact (Lead or Person) has become a subscriber in MailChimp you can create further MailChimp groups etc. But any MailChimp Groups and further segments you make in MailChimp will be local to MailChimp and will not feedback their information to Sage CRM.
