Okay, nevermind. I figured it out. I didn't realize that I had to add a custom edit (checkbox) to the entity that I'm working with, in this case adding comp_check as a checkbox to the company entity based on the example in the link. Hopefully this helps someone else that may be having the same issue. Thanks :-)
