Not using line items

Hi,

I have a new customer that is using opportunities but they have enquiries and bookings to replace quotes and orders. When I create a new quote (enquiry) all the details of it are captured on the quote summary screen. How can I stop the new line items frame appearing? I don't need line items and they won't be using products at all.

To give a bit of background, enquiries and bookings are simply rebrandad quotes and orders.

Hi,

Rather than modifying standard entity screens, an easier option would be to create custom entities using custom entity wizard owned by Opportunity. Then if Quotes and orders are not required, you can remove these tabs from Opportunity tab group.

I need the functionality in the quotes and orders. I just don't need line items.

Which functionality is it you require, that could not be achieved through a custom entity?

Forecasting. Plus time constraints meant it was easier to rebrand the quotes and orders as enquiries and bookings rather than creating new entities. There are other benefits to using existing entities as well, for example mail merge. The conversion process is built in as well. There are other minor limitations with custom entities as well. Also, it is recreating the wheel.
