Sage's focus is on ensuring that our Sage CRM platform offers open, standard-based APIs that are freely available to developers and ISVs. The objective is to encourage the integration of Sage CRM with Sage Accounting Products and create a thriving ecosystem. Sage's product strategy for Sage CRM can be boiled down to three straightforward elements.

  • We want to give our customers a modern user experience & eliminate pain points.
  • We want to provide better integration points for 3rd party solutions.

The development for Sage 2023 R1 has primarily emphasized the expansion of the Email and Contact Import feature from the previous Sage CRM 2022 R2 version.  We have also been finalizing the overall user interface update. Importantly, however, a new capability, the Company Narrative, has been introduced. This feature leverages Deterministic AI to generate a summary of a company's interactions in Near Natural Language. The implementation of this functionality has been carried out using our .NET API, which enables developers to enhance Sage CRM capabilities by developing and employing .NET DLLs.

The .NET API for Sage CRM is now documented on developer.sage.com. This website serves as a reference site that provides information, documentation, guides, and resources for developers interested in integrating apps with Sage cloud software. Sage CRM, along with other Sage products like Sage People, Sage Intacct, Sage X3, and Sage 200, is listed within the Medium Business section of the website. Sage CRM is a global product and is accessible in all regions covered by the developer site, which include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, and Australia.

The new documentation on developer.sage.com has a theme design that adds copyable snippets and a light/dark mode switch.

The Developer Site also promotes partners who are keen to develop and promote solutions for Sage customers via localised Marketplaces, for example, the USA, Canada, the UK, and France. With over two million active Sage customers worldwide, this is a valuable resource for developers seeking to work with Sage CRM and reach out to those customers via the Sage Marketplace.
