Sage CRM 2022 R2: What to expect

1 minute read time.

The local Sage teams and integration partners should have completed their integration testing today Friday, 12th August 2022. We are on target for the release of Sage CRM 2022 R2 to the Sage regions on Friday 26th August 2022.

Note: The exact release date in your country will be determined by your local Sage team as the final processes go to market preparations will need to be confirmed.

The changes in Sage 2022 R2 have mainly focused on the New Email and Contact Import feature that replaces the Classic and Lite Outlook Plugins and a review of the general user experience and the readability of the interface.

Instead of using an additional install (plugin) within the email client (Outlook), the CRM server connects to the target email server. The user can select contacts and emails from their own account that they wish to import into Sage CRM.

The initial server connection will be for Exchange Online via OAuth 2.0. We aim to include support for Exchange On-Premise and Google Workspace from Sage CRM 2023 R1.

The developers have continued to grind down on the bugs and the Release Notes document the issues addressed in this release.

The new release has added support for MS SQL Server 2019 Web Edition.

As part of the work to reflect the new Sage branding we have made changes to the user interface. The changes include updated on-screen messages, and revised imagery and colours to improve readability on the screen.

All these changes have been documented in the Release Notes which will be added to the Help Centre from 25th August 2022.

This release has executed well on its priorities of delivering a simplified installation by removing the need to install additional client plugins. We have widened the deployment options and have improved the user interface.

This applies to Sage CRM stand-alone and when integrated with Sage accounting products. Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage 200, Sage 1000, Sage 300, Sage X3 and Sage Intacct.

Please note:

  • All environments, configurations, integrations, and 3rd-party software that are supported by Sage are documented in the help and guides published on Sage CRM Help Center.
  • Any environments, configurations, integrations, and 3rd-party software that are not documented here have not been tested, and are therefore not supported by Sage.
