Sage CRM 2022 R2: UI Improvement: Accessibility Improvements

1 minute read time.

Sage began to review the accessibility of Sage CRM during 2021 as part of the development process.

Sage CRM is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. We know some parts of the product are not fully accessible because of non-compliances listed in our accessibility statement published in the October of 2021. https://help.sagecrm.com/support/accessibility-statement/

Sage has started to renew the user interface for Sage CRM as part of a brand uplift. This work started in Sage CRM 2022 R2 and will be completed in Sage CRM 2023 R1.

This is going to have a potential impact on many aspects of accessibility and usability.

The biggest visual change that you will see in Sage CRM 2022 R2 is that of the use of colour in the interface.  By leading with black within the Sage CRM interface we want to enable Sage green to 'pop' and also provide the greatest amount of visual contrast to aid accessibility.

We would like to support people with visual impairments by ensuring that

  • text has good contrast against background colours.
  • everything that’s interactive to has good contrast against background colours.

The mobile interface was not updated in Sage CRM 2022 R2 because we will review the mobile theme's usability and design as part of the work for Sage CRM 2023 R1. We want Sage CRM to be as accessible as possible when used on tablets with landscape (horizontal) orientation.

We started an analysis for reducing the complexity of the interface in Sage CRM 2022 R2. We want the standard tasks that users do to be broken down to their core components so they can be handled with ease and efficiency. You can expect to see further changes in 2023 R1 that will make Sage CRM simpler to use so that our customers' business can just flow.
