Sage CRM 2021 R2: Changes to the database and metadata

1 minute read time.

Sage CRM 2021 R2 is a release that makes significant improvements to the user experience. There have been changes made to default screens and lists for new installs. New views and reports and a new dashboard have been added to the system. There is a new company workflow available too. Changes to the administration of mail merging quotes and orders and the control of the new pipeline style mean that new system preferences have been added.

Understanding the changes to the data model is important for customers planning to upgrade their system from an earlier version.

Upgrading may impact

  • Integration with account systems,
  • Customizations that have been written
  • Database tables and views
  • Metadata.

As part of the preparation for an upgrade, we need to make sure that all the resources that are needed are assembled.

The Sage CRM Community has additional resources to help partners. These include a spreadsheet that lists the main metadata and database changes that have been made between Sage CRM 2021 R1 and Sage CRM 2021 R2. You can download this from the Example Downloads and Components folder.

  • What Columns have been added to Existing Tables
  • Any New ScreenObjects
  • And System Parameters added to the system

There are a small number of important changes to the database and metadata that you need to know about.

There are 2 new views and 2 new reports. These are used in the new Quote Dashboard.
There is a Sage Company Workflow, and change system parameters to enable new features and all the changes are supported by additional captions.

We do not anticipate these changes causing an issue for an upgrade.

Make sure that when preparing a system to be upgraded you use all the resources provided.
