Sage CRM 2021 R1: What to Expect

1 minute read time.

Sage CRM 2021 R1 is on target for release at the end of the month. I am pleased to say that this will be one of the most exciting recent releases of Sage CRM. It has features that improve the user experience, make implementation easier, improve administration and security and enable developers to deliver the advanced customizations and integrations that customers desire.

In 2019, I described Sage CRM 2019 R1 as the first release within a new 3-year rolling roadmap. That original 3-year roadmap set the development path through until 2021 and beyond as part of the wider Sage strategy for Sage CRM. We are now ready to release Sage CRM 2021 R1 at the end of the month. Now is a good point to review how we have been executing on the technical and commercial strategy.

Sage Group continues its commitment to develop, sell and maintain Sage CRM as additive to our Sage BMS products around the globe. Our rolling technical and commercial roadmap now stretches out to beyond 2024.

Each release typically has a different focus within the overall roadmap. Sage CRM 2021 R1 is significant in that it has delivered more than simple incremental improvements. This release has executed well on its priorities of delivering interface and user experience improvements, pain point elimination, and enhancing integration capabilities for 3rd party solutions.

We've delivered in this release:

  • Customer experience and usability enhancements
  • 30+ cases resolved
  • Click to dial links implemented
  • oAuth2 for Internal E-mail and Advanced E-mail Manager
  • A major expansion of supported REST API endpoints
  • Self-service password recovery
  • Inline customization of lists and grids
  • Updated SDK snippets and Advanced Customization Wizard
  • Refreshed eLearning
  • Updated User Assistance
  • Supporting content on Sage City and Community

The developers have continued to grind down on the bugs. The Release Notes lists over 30 issues addressed in this release. All these changes have been documented in the Help Center, which will be updated to include 2021 R1.

The exact release date in your country will be determined by your local Sage team. This is as the QA processes for the various integrations will need to be confirmed.

This is a significant release. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing articles and additional resources to ensure that colleagues, partners and customers can get the best out of the system.
