Putaway Plan Function & FEFO

Hello,

I'm trying to implement the "Putaway Plan" into Sage X3 v.12 It's my understanding that a Lot Number isn't applied to a receipt of product until it's Putaway into it's default location which is the way we are hoping. The problem for us is we are having to use the FEFO option and not FIFO as we were before. The FIFO option would send a order picker all over the warehouse to pick that product, and we also couldn't mix different lot numbers in bays as well. 

The FEFO option was presented to us by Sage, but the product "must" have a "mandatory lot" designation. I have read that "optional" lot is the only way a lot number won't be applied directly after a receipt. 

We need to be able to use the FEFO option, and have the Lot number applied after something is Putaway. Any suggestions or a point in the right direction would be awesome!

    Hi Brian,

    Apologies for the late reply, I am not sure if you still need help with this request. if I understood your question correctly then, yes it is possible what you are trying to do. Assuming you have the expiry management active for the product and product category level under controls/ management tab. You need to have additional setup as below:

    1. You need to setup the product as LOT managed.

    2. Under the product category, you need to make sure you have the issue and allocation rules and you have selected the FEFO, and that is linked the stock transactions you want it use it for. 

    3. Also under the product category,  Management Rules, set Yes for the Output LOT for your movement type so the setup can trigger the expiration setup.

    I did a test to verify my setup and how it will receipt and allocate the stock. If you receipt the stock to the DOCK location system will not prompt the LOT and expiry date management, When user run the Putaway routine only then system will prompt to assign the LOT number and the expiry date to the LOT.

    I then tested the sales order allocation, If the issue and allocation rules are setup for FEFO as per point 2. system will allocate the stock which is expiring first regardless of the LOT number.
