I'm trying to implement the "Putaway Plan" into Sage X3 v.12 It's my understanding that a Lot Number isn't applied to a receipt of product until it's Putaway into it's default location which is the way we are hoping. The problem for us is we are having to use the FEFO option and not FIFO as we were before. The FIFO option would send a order picker all over the warehouse to pick that product, and we also couldn't mix different lot numbers in bays as well.
The FEFO option was presented to us by Sage, but the product "must" have a "mandatory lot" designation. I have read that "optional" lot is the only way a lot number won't be applied directly after a receipt.
We need to be able to use the FEFO option, and have the Lot number applied after something is Putaway. Any suggestions or a point in the right direction would be awesome!
