Sage X3 and support for Internet Explorer 11

Sage X3 Version 12 release 2020 R4 and Sage X3 version 11 Patch 18 has been enhanced to replace previously used Flash technology in a number of Sage X3 components with HTML5

These HTML5 components are supported on recent releases of commonly used browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, and Safari on Apple.

Please note that the HTML5 components do not function correctly when using Internet Explorer for the following reasons:

-Internet Explorer 11 does not fully support HTML5 

-Internet Explorer 11 is the last major version of Internet Explorer released by Microsoft, and Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Edge instead of Internet Explorer 11. Please note that whilst Internet Explorer 11 is currently a supported browser for use with Sage X3 version 11 or below, Sage does not recommend using Internet Explorer 11 to connect to Sage X3. For more information please refer to Prerequisites Overview in the Sage X3 Online Help Center. Below is an excerpt from the Pre-requisites Overview browser section:

Although Internet Explorer 11 is supported, we do not recommend using it to connect to Sage X3 products. Internet Explorer 11 might exhibit performance issues with Sage X3 resulting in a much slower user interface than with other browsers

It is important to note that some Internet Explorer components are still used by the Office plugin, so you should not uninstall Internet Explorer 11 from your client machine if you are using the Office plugin.
