Introduction
“Performance” is a large topic to cover as it is influenced by many different factors, including user perception. No matter how fast your system is, there will always be something acting as a bottleneck and restricting performance. This series of documents is aiming to eventually cover all aspects of a Sage X3 system to help you get the most out of the available resources and provide the best performing system possible. These documents should also be able to help you when investigating specific performance problems with your customers systems.
Although I have organised these documents by major component area, performance investigations and tuning should be considered holistically. Taking this end-to-end approach allows you to analyse all areas where contention or resource exhaustion could be occurring, giving the best chance to reduce the bottlenecks within the architectural/budget constraints. Don’t forget that solving a performance issue in one component may not have an immediate effect if the bottleneck has just moved to a different place, so any investigation or tuning exercise will likely be an iterative process.
Reporting performance issues to Sage Support team
Review the blog "Sage X3 Performance basics: part 1" and gather the data listed in the "Understand and describe the problem fully" section. Then raise a case with Sage Support in the normal way using the blog "A "Perfect" Case: What info we need from you when logging a Sage X3/ ERP case."
